Paton Blood and Bone Plus K
Paton's Blood & Bone Plus K is a complete, balanced formulation which incorporates the benefits of organic ingredients. Blood & Bone Plus K includes Potassium (K) which will help improve fruit and flower growth as well as assisting in the reduction of plant stress caused by adverse weather conditions. The Potassium is in the form of "low salt" sulphate, so this can be recommended as a general garden fertilizer to promote healthy growth in most plants. An organic product, Blood & Bone Plus K is also beneficial to general soil health and structure and will help rejuvenate and fortify tired soils by replenishing essential soil microbes.

Suitable For
Paton's Blood & Bone Plus K is suitable for general garden applications including flowers, shrubs, vegetables, fruits and also lawns. Blood & Bone Plus K provides a stable food base for healthy growth in most plants.
Vegetables
Apply approx 100-150 grams per square metre prior to planting the crop, dig into the top 10cm (4 inches) of soil. Thereafter apply 25-30 grams per square metre monthly.
Fruit Trees
On young trees apply 100-150 grams to the drip zone in late winter and late summer (July and February). On mature trees apply 0.5kg per tree for each year of growth (to a maximum of 3kg per year), apply to the drip zone during late winter, early spring and again in late summer.
Shrubs
Apply 100-150 grams to the drip zone in September, January and April, where possible work into the soil surface or mulch over with a good organic mulch.
Flowers
Apply 70-100 grams per square metre prior to planting and a smaller amount (approx half) following the formation of buds.
Lawns
Apply at approx 50 grams per square metre in spring, summer and autumn. Prior to seeding or laying turf, evenly broadcast the required amount of fertilizer onto the soil surface and rake into the soil to a depth of approx 5cm (2 inches), and water in well. On established lawn areas, broadcast evenly over the area at the desired rate and water in well.
Application Hints
Apply sparingly on potted plants as an excess of plant food can cause burning relatively easily. It is much safer to apply small amounts on a regular basis. Patches can appear if an even spreading of the product is not successfully achieved. If hand broadcasting, mixing the fertilizer with a carrier such as sand or soil before spreading can achieve a more even result. Alternatively apply less fertilizer but go over the area at least twice in different directions (one at a right angle to the other).
